Tainted Blood (Generation V, #3)

by M.L. Brennan

In the third Generation V novel, Fortitude Scott proves that working with family can be deadly…

Former film student Fortitude Scott is finally gainfully employed. Unfortunately, said employment happens to be with a group of sociopathic vampires—his family. And as much as Fort is loath to get too deep into the family business, when his brother, Chivalry, is temporarily unable to run the territory, it’s up to Fort to keep things under control.

So when the leader of a powerful faction of shifters turns up murdered, Fort finds himself tracking down a killer while navigating dangerous rivalries, longtime grudges, and hidden agendas. Even with the help of his foxy kitsune sidekick, Suzume, he’ll need to pull out all the stops to hunt for the paranormal assassin.

But as he calls on fairies, witches, and ghouls for help, he discovers that the problem is much bigger than a single dead werebear. The supernatural community is preparing for a massive shift in power within the Scott family leadership—and Fort has landed right in the middle of the gathering storm.…

This was another good book in the Generation V series. The murder of the werebear wasn't that hard to figure out but what made this book great was learning the different dynamics of the paranormal beings that live in the Scott's territory. We learn about how the Scott's rule certain groups and we get to see how Fort interacts with them, which is quite different from the other Scott's. Which quite a few different groups have noticed and are watching what Fort is gonna do next. Which makes sense because there is gonna be changes in the Scott family soon and everybody is watching to see how it all falls.

This book was a buildup to bigger plots that will be happening in future books, possible even the fourth book. I can't wait to see where the author takes it and what happens with Fort and the Scott family.

I loved seeing my favorite character Suzume and I love her in every scene and we certainly learned some new things about her family and the Kitsune.

I was very happy at the way the book ended and I guess all I can do is wait for the fourth book to come alone.

I won this book in Goodreads giveaway for an honest review. Since I won this book, which is third in the series, I went and read the two books first before I started this one and I was not disappointed in reading them.

I would definitely recommended this series of books to others. And I'm glad I won the book, it looked interesting when I saw the description.
