This is one of those books I've had for awhile knowing that when I read it I would need to have a long stretch of time to read. I knew once I started I wouldn't be able to stop. I was so right. Except for sleep and a few meals, I read straight through since yesterday afternoon.

What can I say about the Charlie's? Enchanting? Delightful? Smug? Stubborn? Maybe all of them, but most of all they are regular people like you and me. They have dysfunctional families and broken hearts. They are two very real people dealing with the world they have been given. Those circumstances cause the Charlie's to just be friends. That friendship gave them a foundation unlike most relationships these days. I know I'm not one to talk since my husband and I were engaged after nine months, but it really worked for these two. After the turmoil their lives had endured, they needed the friendship and did not cave to their base desires.

Scott had me laughing and crying, mostly laughing, throughout this beautiful tale. I can't wait to read more of her work because with writing this good, I know there is going to be much more.
