Ok, so a lot happened in a short period of time in this novella.  Cristin Harber can cram a lot of character and plot development into a story and the fact that this is a novella certainly did not deter her.  Trace.  Hmmmm.  I kinda had a hard time with him at first until there was a comparison of the Titan guys and Delta guys made about midway or so and it clarified (for me) why I felt less connected to Trace.  Now, don't get me wrong, I liked Trace, I think I just had a hard time warming up to him with the likes of Colby, Cash, Jared and Rocco to live up to.  Trace and his Delta buddies are a different breed, they are the slinking in the dark, lone wolf guys.  They hook up with women only when they need the distraction or for an adrenaline let down.  Enter Mallory/Marlene.  Their brief time together one random night in Germany was a convenient rendezvous in their own time of need.  Trace is the uber lone wolf and he has a sole focus and meeting someone like Marlena and becoming involved with anyone long term is just not in his plan.  He was a badass though and I enjoyed the descriptions Ms. Harber used like "tatted-up warrior" as he took Marlena on a picnic date.  I was not a huge fan of Marlena at times, she was young and her self esteem was in the shitter thanks to a piece of crap father.  Meeting a guy like Trace was good for her though. ;)

I'm pretty sure that we are going to get a series from the Delta team and of course, this makes me happy!  We meet characters in this novella that I'd like to learn more about and I'd certainly like to see how Marlena and Trace are doing down the road.

FYI- this novella is available for now in the Hot Alpha Seals Megaset available July 22.That's 12 novellas for only 99cents!

** The novella will be released on its own in the Fall.
