I kind of wish I was better prepared for the ending of this book. I was listening to it at work, and my co-workers were concerned, when I started sobbing. This definitely qualified as a romance, but it was a tragic romance.

It's always a thrill for me to follow characters for so many years, but these two were hard to watch. That one day they spent together was always so wonderful, so seeing them return to their everyday and not necessarily happy lives was tough. There are many ups and downs, and some things broke my heart, but alas, there was beauty in the pain. Despite this being essentially about a couple that cheated on their spouses, I really enjoyed it, and was so invested in them. Had the ending been different, I think I would have rated this higher, but the ending being what it was crushed me.
