I am super picky about my alt-history (especially revolving around WWII). The only series I ever liked was Ian Tregillis' Milkweed Triptych, which is more adult than YA. But let me tell you, this one is pretty damn amazing. A+++ Will buy from again.

No really, I will. There's a sequel.
