I’m a big fan of Kelly Jamieson and hockey romances, so I was thrilled to read her first book in the Aces Hockey series and I’m happy to say, I enjoyed everything about this enchanting romance that is both sweet and sexy. The story is entertaining and also has genuine characters with multiple layers that are easy to connect with.

The story revolves around the players on the Aces hockey team in Chicago and in particular Marc Dupuis. Marc is the captain of the team and has the reputation of being cautious, series and responsible. These attributes make him a good leader for the team, but he needs a little more fun in his life. Everything changes when he meets Lovey Armstrong, his teammate’s little sister. Once he sees her, he can’t seem to think straight and she has him twisted up in knots. Lovey’s brother, Duncan has warned all his teammates to stay away from his sister and Marc really does try, but Lovey makes it impossible. Marc and Lovey are great together. Marc is quiet and careful and Lovey is fun loving, flighty and outgoing. She is kind of a dork, and has a lot of silly expressions that she uses throughout the book. Marc and Lovey are total opposites, but sometimes opposites attract. There is a lot of chemistry between these two as they try to spend time together without anyone knowing. Lovey’s brother Duncan is so protective of her, it is cute, but I can understand how it would annoy Lovey. I really like Marc. He is loyal and protective of everyone he cares about and he is always so sweet to Lovey. He also has a sexy French accent and Lovey finds it impossible to resist him when he speaks to her in French. He’s a nice guy, although a little insecure about woman, but smoking hot in the bedroom.

There are also engaging secondary characters that add more fun to this story. The guys on the hockey team love to give each other a hard time and of course, everyone has a nickname. I look forward to reading more stories about the players on the team in future books in this series. It’s exciting to find a new series that is satisfying and hard to put down.
