Figuring out who the guilty party was not an easy task. Just when I thought I had it pegged in comes a twist that puts me on another trail. It did not take me long, however, to figure out who the bad guy was. This, however, did not take away my enjoyment of the story. The way in which everything played out more than made up for this. The prologue was chilling and this effect lasted throughout the story. I was on the edge of my seat at every page turn. To say I was hooked on the story would be an understatement. I was totally bowled over. I found it difficult to put this book down. I stayed up late reading as I was eager to find out what was going to happen next. It was worth the loss of sleep.
The characters were strong, determined, believable and quite motivated. The reasons for their actions were evident. I could clearly understand why they reacted the way they did. I felt like I could see into their minds. It was this trait that helped me to figure out who the villain was. The name of the book was quite fitting as the mind of the killer is twisted. I agree he is smart and it appears he is always one step ahead of law enforcement. However, his arrogance made him underestimate the steely determination of Emma and Dean as well the solid investigative skills of the members of the Last Option Search Team.
This story possessed a good balance of romance and suspense. One did not overshadow the other. The story was well written and it flowed flawlessly. If you like psychological thrillers and if you are a fan of criminal minds, then you will enjoy Twisted.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, but I guess I have to be patient as it will not be out until October 2015. In spite of the long wait, I know it will be worth it.
