The Flash Vol. 2: Speed of Darkness (Rebirth)

by Joshua Williamson

Barry Allen may be the fastest man alive, but he can’t be everywhere at once. So when he finds out that his young protégé Wally West has been fighting crime as Kid Flash without Barry’s supervision, Flash has to put his super-fast foot down: no more Kid Flash training until Wally learns some responsibility.

But when Wally decides to prove his abilities to the Flash by investigating reports of a strange creature made of shadows in downtown Central City, he finds himself in a whole world of trouble...literally! Suddenly, Flash, Kid Flash and Iris West all become trapped in the Shadowlands of Flash’s old nemesis-turned-ally the Shade...only the Shade is no longer in control of his own powers.

Can the Kid Flash and Flash regain each other’s trust and figure out a way out of the Shadowlands? Or will darkness spread over the entire Earth?

Plus, who better to help the Flash train Wally than...Wally West, the Flash?

Hot up-and-coming writer Joshua Williamson (Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad) and artists Felipe Watanabe (Cyborg), Jorge Corona (We Are Robin), Davide Gianfelice (Northlanders) and Neil Googe (Suicide Squad) continue the Rebirth of the Flash and his allies! Collects issues #9-13.

Desk Cleaning happens So I've got a new work PC that required a cleanup of my desk, which cascaded a little and I found a few "I should read that" books, including a couple of graphic novels, which are quick reads for me, so they're getting read.

This was an interesting series of stories with different Flash and Kid Flash and some villains and a lovely moment with Kid Flash ensuring that Barry and Iris have a peaceful date.

Enjoyable vignettes in the life of the Flash.
