Uilleam (Will MacRieve) is a werewolf with a tortured past. If you've read previous books of this series, you know his most recent torments. At the very beginning of this book, you will learn of his even more tortured past as a child. This is the past that really sticks with him and is trying to hurt his future with his mate. Because of this past, he can't see her for who she is.
Nix makes several appearances, which is wonderful. She is more lucid and coherent. I think most like her better when she isn't as coherent. Still, I'll take her any way I can get her.
I'm disappointed with the ending. I don't like how things were left with Webb. I think Chloe should've killed him when he started talking about slaughtering humans because they were weak. I was proud of MacRieve, but I think Chloe should've been strong enough to kill him. I'm sure that Ms. Cole has a plan for him down the road. By the end of this story, you will know who the next story will be about. It is left with a bit of cliffhanger.
**Adding to review after listening to audiobook**
After listening to this series, much closer together than I originally read the series, I've noticed the number of virgins in these stories. I didn't notice that the first time through. I'm not normally a fan of the virgin story, but the way that Cole writes them doesn't seem to bother me, since I didn't notice the first time through. Just making an observation.
Second, after reading the synopsis of the next book, the story isn't who I thought it would be about, which saddens me. I want to know about the cliffhanger at the end of this book. When will that story be told?
