This was a first time read by Kyra Jacobs and I found this read to not be like my other reads. There were just a lot of things that fell flat for me that kept me from truly enjoying Scott and Felicity's story. I didn't hate it, but didn't exactly love it.

The blurb really sucked me pairing two different tropes that I generally love; sports romance and single parent. I love it when kids are incorporated to the story, not all authors can pull it off so well, but I found Tyler to be absolutely adorable and lovable. Honestly, the side characters were the ones that I loved the most aka Scott's grandma and Tyler.

I think it was the storyline and lack of chemistry between Scott and Felicity that had me not enjoying this one so much. I just couldn't feel it all and I really wanted to. Maybe it's just me, but there wasn't any intimate scenes, we know it happens and there's no fade out. Just a clue in that they did it and then it's the next day. I like my romance with all the intimate scenes, however, I know many out there prefer their romances reads this way. So that will definitely appeal to readers who don't like to read about all of that.

As for the plot, I just wanted a bit more. Scott his struggling with being off the field and recovering from his injury. And with Felicity being the persistent personal assistant, that's kind of all it was.

The Soccer Play and the Single Mother is a light-hearted read with little drama that many will enjoy. Unfortunately, it just wasn't the one for me.
