Cassie’s writing is bright and quick. It didn’t take me long to read either story. I fell in love with Millie from book one almost instantly. She is the lost soul with so much potential and her life was destroyed by one tragic choice.
I struggled in connecting with the main characters in book two. I actually love the descriptions of the old house and the town. (They have an AWESOME coffee shop!) I wanted more time with Bettina’s coworkers, Charity and Amanda.
The only thing that bothered me (and I’ll admit I don’t read a lot of ghost romance stories) was the ghost sex. The characters connecting sexually made sense for the story, but how it happened and how it was described seemed awkward and clumsy. It felt like I was watching a Rated R movie with my parents in the room.
These are Cassie’s first books. Outside of the awkward sex scenes, these books are a solid start and an easy romantic read.
