I have really been looking forward to jumping into the Wells of Knowledge science series and this is my first one. I first came across the series as I think four books are on the Sonlight P4/5 list and after looking at the topics and reading more about the series knew we needed to read them all. Last night we watched the first Ice Age movie and this past week we have been reading various Earth Day books for review and when I saw this one in my stack I thought it would fit right in on topic. (We will continue and watch Ice Age 2: the Meltdown tonight. Yay for double feature bargain pack!)

In "Polar Bear, Why is Your World Melting?" so much is introduced and reinforced. The illustrations are fabulous and attractive in my opinion and the wavering font provides fun and interest as well as key words being emphasized in all uppercase letters. The book is about green house gases and the buildup and onto what we can do to help protect our earth. There is plenty of information here to spring board projects from tree planting and recycling to learning about different gases and their cycles.

With this first look into the Wells of Knowledge I am very excited. At first I wondered if it might be completely over her 3.5 year old head but I think it is a great introduction and that it can be read many more times with the benefit of picking up more information each time in the years to come. Eve. The intro and finale with the polar bears was perfect for her animal loving interest.

Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy for review.
Typed on Kindle Fire.
