I love when authors choose to add a bit more depth to their worlds through short stories. Not only is a nice little treat to their fans it also helps to calm the anxiety of waiting for the next book to come out.
Glitches is a background story on Cinder and what exactly got her to the point she's at in the beginning of Cinder (the book). It does give you some great details, but I wouldn't say it's vital to your reading experience when going into the full length novels. I will say that's its just as finely crafted as Cinder and that I ended up having to fight the urge to re-read Cinder after finishing this short, so in that instance it's a win for me.
