I wasn't sure I would like The Cornerstone. It seemed like it might be a bit too hot for me. It is very steamy, but I didn't find it over the top. At first, I didn't really like Shannon either. I have a hard time connecting to heroines who are ball busters all the time. But, again, I was surprised to find that I didn't dislike her at all. I haven't read the other books in the series and it didn't affect my enjoyment of this book. What can I say about Commando? He was such a great hero. He is demanding, pushy, and a bit crass. I loved it. Even when he was being pushy and crass you could feel the love for Shannon. That is not an easy task for a writer to pull off successfully. Often times when the hero is such a bad ass alpha, the relationship can feel very superficial. I can honestly say, I didn't feel that way about these two at all. Honestly, this book just totally surprised me-I was not sure what to expect and I was a bit hesitant but Kate Canterbary had made me a believer! I certainly plan to grab the other books in the series (except maybe not Sam and Tiel...not sure I care about those two...) Honestly, I would enjoy reading more about Will and Shannon. I don't know that I would ever get tired of them!
