by William Shakespeare and Brett Wright

Romeo and Juliet, one of the greatest love stories ever told . . . in texts?!

Two families at war.
A boy and a girl in love.
A secret marriage gone oh-so-wrong.

<3 and h8. The classics just got a whole lot more interesting. ;)

tl;dr A Shakespeare play told through its characters texting with emojis, checking in at certain locations, and updating their relationship statuses. The perfect gift for hip theater lovers and teens.

A glossary and cast of characters are included for those who need it. For example: tl;dr means too long; didn’t read.

Let me be honest: I have not read the original Romeo and Juliet story, nor do I remember ever watching a movie adaptation or reading a retelling. It's not my kind of story, but when my friend handed me this book and told me to read it while he and my best friend were getting food (which took an hour), I immediately dove into it and finished it before they returned. (I literally timed it, and it took me exactly thirty minutes).

This is honestly both the best and worst retelling of Romeo and Juliet and I loved it. Just the fact that someone thought to make this... *chef's kiss* I think I might read the other retellings this guy has made of Shakespeare's works now.
