Hero in the Highlands by Suzanne Enoch

Hero in the Highlands (No Ordinary Hero, #1)

by Suzanne Enoch

Gabriel Forrester has lost his lust for life. A hardened army major, he is abysmally bad at extracting joy out of life. When he unexpectedly inherits a dukedom and huge estate in Scotland, Gabriel dutifully checks in on his new holdings. The biggest surprise he receives, however, is the woman overseeing it. A woman who slowly begins to awaken his senses to life...and love...Fiena Blackstock never expected to share common ground with Gabriel, and when he arrives, she isn't disappointed. His English ideas of order and duty clash rather spectacularly with her ideas of how a home should feel. But the attraction that burns between them is mutual. Fiona wants to show Gabriel all the beauty life can hold...but first they must learn to trust each other with their hearts...

At first, I wasnt thrilled with the story line. Idk, I think I struggled with how sexually free the heroine is. But as it progressed, I grew really attached to the characters and invested in their success. I'm curious if future books will continue to show us how life is going for the couple.
