Even though I didn't enjoy With a Twist as much as I had hoped, I still gave the rest of the books in this series a chance and YES YES YES! Can you tell I'm happy I gave this a chance? If not, maybe you should read those three big yeses ;) When I read With a Twist, I knew I needed Cooper's story (Chaser) and Patrick's story (Last Call) so that's my reason for not giving up.

Cooper is the player of the trio and the one I really wanted to read about. I needed to know how this player would fall for his best friend's sister Maggie. They made a deal: a relationship that would be strictly physical, no feelings involved and it would only last for a few weeks. After those weeks ended, they would go their separate ways.

He was like a snake charmer—when he looked at me like that, like he could see me, I swear I'd do whatever he asked.

Six months ago, on the day of her wedding, Maggie found her fiance cheating on her. Now, all she wants is to focus on herself while having on the side. Maggie was a very fun character! Despite her insecurities on what to do with her life now that she had moved to New York, she was a strong character from the beginning. She was always smiling, ready to be there for anyone who needed it. She was so loyal to her friends. Cooper is a notorious player who's kind of rich and very famous. His life is always on the tabloids so getting to keep this "relationship" with Maggie a secret, felt really good for him. He slowly started to notice that his life was a huge void and he thought it was about time he got serious over something—or rather, someone.

I wanted to show her everything, give her everything. I wanted to prove to her that what I said was true. I wanted her to believe me, believe in me.

Along the way, Maggie proved she needed to find herself for real and close a chapter in her life she didn't even know she had to. She was mature and off she went to figure out what she really wanted. What I liked about this was that she didn't exactly change. She was still fun Maggie, but this time she was happier than ever.

In all my life, I'd never seen anything so beautiful, not standing in the Blue Mosque or the Taj Mahal. Not in the streets of Rome or canals of Venice. Making you smile gives me life. Making you laugh gives me hope. Making you happy is all I want, other than to keep you.

Overall, this was a New Adult that I really liked. I didn't like a few things, like some decisions that were made, but my reading experience was really good and the author's writing improved a lot from the previous book, which made it easy for me to enjoy this story even more.This review was originally posted on Latte Nights Reviews.
