First Impression:

I love Peanut Butter and Jelly but I wasn't expecting what would happen in this book. I enjoyed the writing and the flow of the story. This is a great book that has a lot of meaning.

The Story & Characters:

Annie and Jason are BBF they have a secret society because they love PB&J. They bury sandwiches when they are unable to be eaten. Jason's family is going through something and the kids work together with the mean lady across the street to find a treasure and help Jason's family. This book wasn't what I was expecting, I found the friendship between the two kids to be cute and the book at times made me very sad. I wasn't sure what was going to happen and as I started to get closer to the end I actually wasn't expecting it at all. Annie's siblings really got on my nerves and I was actually kind of annoyed at times with them. The mean lady across the street surprised me and I really enjoyed reading about her. I thought the book was missing a lot of detail and I was looking for better connection between the characters but overall I really enjoyed reading this and I actually may have cried a little at the end.

Final Thoughts:

I really liked this book and think it would be a great read for kids and teens. Adults would enjoy it also or might be a good book to read with your kids. If you are looking for a quick read with a strong message I suggest this book.
