Find Me (Found Duet - Book 2) (Found Duet, #2)

by Laurelin Paige

The Conclusion of Gwen and J.C.'s Story

Gwen Anders came to The Sky Launch to begin fresh, away from the horrors of her past. She fit in quickly, becoming good friends with her co-manager, Alayna Withers and the owner of the club, Hudson Pierce. Though the circumstances that brought her here were not the best, she's never felt more at home.

But starting a new life means letting go. And there are some things she doesn't want to leave behind - like JC, the man who taught her how to let loose. The man she wasn't supposed to fall in love with. The man she doesn't want to lose.

Now, with the reason she ran still a threat, Gwen fears she'll never be able to move on completely. And if she does, can she still hold out hope that JC loves her enough to come and find her?

I'm not sure what I can say about FIND ME, except that I really, really, really, really loved it.

This is the continuation of JC and Gwen's story. When we last saw them, Gwen had broken things off with JC and headed back to New York heartbroken. A year later, she's still trying to put the pieces of her life back together. She hasn't completely reverted back to the Gwen before JC, but she's holding onto her fragile heart knowing he's the only one that will ever truly be able to open it. It's sad to see, since you know Gwen struggled to open herself up to JC and despite being the one to leave him, she broke her own heart as much as she broke his. And while she doesn't admit it, you know she's secretly waiting for JC to come back to her. So it's no real surprise when she discovers he's in NYC that she seeks him out. Or that when he sees her, he comes chasing after her. Their love was that epic. That strong.

JC and Gwen have a lot to work through. His past. His need for revenge. Her past. Her inability to trust. If it weren't for the certainty of their love for one another, I'd question if this couple could work out their differences. Well..maybe not differences, but Gwen's inability to trust in JC feelings for her and understanding just how much she means to him. JC proves that in a variety of ways, even breaking his own heart...again...in an effort to protect Gwen. It takes quite a bit for Gwen to finally understand that and accept that she is truly who he wants.

I'm new to Laurelin Paige books, but I have to tell you she creates some pretty fabulous characters. I loved the chemistry between Gwen and JC. I loved when JC was flirty and dirty or when Gwen would get sassy and sarcastic. But beneath all of that, you had two people which such emotions for each other (even when they were trying to hide them) that they felt almost like a secondary character that you had to take notice of. I enjoyed the author's voice and find myself craving more from her (I've ready ordered H and Laynie's bundle). Laureline Paige is definitely an author that's going on my must-read radar.
