The evening is shared through three perspectives. Those of Layla, Jillian and Ruby. Layla and Jillian each plan to give their men a little something special this Valentines and poor Ruby is not sure why she is even tagging along. Curiosity? Jealousy? On the other hand, it might be because everyone is dying to attend this private party. Ruby is worried about being the fifth wheel when Chad Fellows joins the group. Those of you who have read Crave will remember him as Layla's blind date. Ruby is surprised because she didn't think this was Chad's scene.
Dawson brings out the heat in the afterhours club, but she also gives us fun, swoons and character growth. I enjoyed the teasing between couples and among the six of them. Michael and Jillian are siblings creating plenty of back and forth teasing. I loved watching Layla and Michael reach a pivotal point in their relationship. Leo and Jillian are true lovebirds giving us tenderness and heat. Dawson raised the heat level for this special occasion and continues to make it more about the couple and their growth. Despite the heat level she makes their moments feel genuine, hot and personal.
My favorite part of the evening however was the conversations between Chad and Ruby. I kind of pictured Chad as this sweet, Oxford wearing good guy (totally vanilla) and Dawson made him sexy, charming and very appealing. I have always liked Ruby as she marches to her own drum, and it was great getting to know her. I still cannot wait for Brandon's story. The man is sexy, funny, and sensitive. I am ready to surrender but I have a feeling Dawson will make us wait for his scintillating tale.
The last chapter of Unraveled is told from another perspective (spoilers darling) and it left me counting down the days until Debauched, book three in the Undone series.
