Riley just wants to live a normal life. After finding her ex-husband cheating on her and trying to ignore her clairvoyant abilities, she moves into a house with a bunch of elderly folks. Just when things can not get any worse, Riley gets a knock on her door from a good looking guy who is looking for her neighbour. Nick, a P.I. who does not like to play by the rules, is trying to serve Riley's neighbour papers but when the neighbour shows up dead and Riley ends up at the top of the suspect list it becomes a race to prove Riley is innocent.

Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door is definitely not your average romantic comedy. This book had me laughing out loud and scratching my head all at the same time. Nick and Riley's relationship is a slow burn with lots of laugh out loud banter and sexual tension as they try to avoid their attraction to each other. There is a big cast of characters that are all quirky in their own right. This is a long but good beginning to what is shaping up to be an unusual but funny series.
