This is the first book in a young adult series as well as a first novel for this author. As all first books you get a lot of world building details. What kept me glued to this book is that each chapter is dedicated to each of our four orphaned teenagers that have landed in Envoa. Not only do you get to stay with one character each chapter leads you right into the next character part of the story.

As the adventure moves along at a steady clip the four characters come together with their guardians and start to discover that each one has an ability and they may no necessarily know how it works. One is not even willing to admit that he has a special ability as it to confusing to determine what it really is or what it not. I like the danger adventure as they battle off creatures only your nightmares could drag up. This author has started this series off with a bang and i eager to know what happens next for the four main characters.
