The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter

The Good Daughter (Good Daughter, #1)

by Karin Slaughter

Twenty-eight years ago, Charlotte and Samantha Quinn's happy small-town family life was torn apart by a terrifying attack on their family home. It left their mother dead. It left their father - Pikeville's notorious defense attorney - devastated. And it left the family fractured beyond repair, consumed by secrets from that terrible night. Twenty-eight years later, and Charlie has followed in her father's footsteps to become a lawyer herself - the ideal good daughter. But when violence comes to Pikeville again - and a shocking tragedy leaves the whole town traumatized - Charlie is plunged into a nightmare. Not only is she the first witness on the scene, but it's a case that unleashes the terrible memories she's spent so long trying to suppress. Because the shocking truth about the crime that destroyed her family nearly 30 years ago won't stay buried forever.

About The Good Daughter:

About the Author:

IMHO: The Good Daughter:

I fucking loved this. I really need a damn win, and I got it with The Good Daughter.

Trigger warning though on gun violence, murder, child rape,

It's immediately engaging.

I love both point of views.

Builds suspense and tension BEAUTIFULLY.

I figured some things out but only RIGHT before they were officially revealed.

Characters are all amazing in their own  way and memorable. No blandies or standees here!

Love how it handles PTSD and trauma. Understandable, realistic as well as their therapy experiences.

Bisexual people! Casually existing and mentioned and not a big deal. Except to bi-self reacting to them XD

I will absolutely be checking out more Karin Slaughter books. I can't believe this is the first I've heard/read her.
