Big Sky Wedding by Linda Lael Miller

Big Sky Wedding (Parable, #5) (Big Sky (Harlequin))

by Linda Lael Miller

Wedding bells are ringing in Parable, Montana, but Brylee Parrish hasn't enjoyed the sound since being jilted at the altar by Hutch Carmody. She's over Hutch now, and running a multimillion-dollar business is challenging enough for this country gal. So she should avoid falling head over boot heels for A-list actor Zane Sutton. He's come home to his rodeo roots, but Hollywood lured him away once and just might again. Yet everything about him, from his easy charm to his concern for his young half brother, seems too genuine to resist.... Zane didn't come to Parable for love--but count on a spirited woman to change a jaded cowboy's mind. Problem is, Brylee's not convinced he's here to stay. Good thing he's determined to prove to her, kiss by kiss, that she's meant to be his bride.

I was excited to journey back to Parable, Montana to read Brylee Parish’s story in Big Sky Wedding by Linda Lael Miller. I have become quite invested in this little town and the characters that dwell there. We have a newcomer a smexy ex-rodeo cowboy/movie star and he is about to turn Brylee’s world upside down and inside out. Three word review: romantic, swoon-worthy and sweet.

Brylee’s multi-million dollar business is doing so well that she is considering making it public but things haven’t changed with her love life. Ever since Hutch left her at the altar she has been avoiding friends and hanging close to home but even that’s become hard. With Walker and his wife and then their three kids living on the ranch too, she is beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. When Zane Sutton moves into the ranch next to her business, she cannot help but noticing how handsome he is but she knows these “Hollywood” types never last in Parable for long. Zane needs a change and boy-howdy is he getting it, with family moving in, a snarky housekeeper and one hot little filly working next door. The tale that unfolds had me smiling, sighing and enjoying my time back in Parable.

I have had a soft spot for Brylee since Hutch stood her up. She is strong, confident, a good friend and a doting aunt but love hasn’t come to her easy. She has built these defenses and Zane just about unnerves her. Zane is smexy, knows what he wants and is ready to settle down. I loved his housekeeper and she reminded me of Opal. I fell hard for Zane’s half-brother and the twelve year old is sure to capture yours too. Landry, Zane’s younger brother arrives and something is going on there and I simply cannot wait for his story. The brothers have had a fall-out of some sort and relations are strained and I want the deets. Of course we see past couples, and get updates about all of our friends in Parable making my visit back enjoyable.

The romance started off smokin’ hot and then simmered into a slow burn that kept me wanting more. It felt genuine and I was swept up in this sweet tale hoping that Brylee would finally get her happily ever after. Zane and Brylee’s interaction were filled with snark, heat and you could just feel the sexual tension it was downright delicious! I love that the author chose not to make this an insta-love but took that spark and heat and allowed the flames to burn filling the tale with warmth. Side stories and Zane’s brothers added to the tale and helped us learn more about him. The next book will give us Landry Sutton’s story and I am anxious to read it.
