This was a really creepy short-ish story about a man driven crazy by the noise 'Clinety' her hears for weeks after putting on a cross necklace that his wife gave him. He doesn't understand what's happening to him at first, but keeps hearing a 'Clinkety' sound at every day and doesn't understand where the sound is coming from. He wakes up to rashes on his neck and grass on his feet. Confused, he does some snooping on his sons phone, to find out what was really going on. And boy was he shocked at what he found. The cross was cursed and put him in a trance but it also killed anyone it came in contact with as it had been doing so since the dawn of time. I found that part of the story fascinating.

Things get resolved in the end, which was nice, the character had it coming to them.

There were some other short subplots that involved cheating and a kid addicted to his phone that mostly panned out. The characters weren't horrible, if a little shallow but it was as short story so there was only time to develop so much.

But I really liked the main characters voice and the story flowed well. And the ending was really creepy and well deserved. I wonder if the cross will ever stop circulating. The book was well written and I'm looking forward to reading more of this author.
