Isabelle leaves Duke after her mother's death, and returns home to try and heal, while picking up the pieces of her broken father. Caleb is a lifelong member of the Iron Horsemen MC, who is nursing a broken heart in a very unhealthy way. They come from different worlds, yet, each finds some solace in the other.
I really enjoyed this NA romance. Both Caleb and Isabelle are fiercely loyal, and when they give their heart to someone, they do so without reservations. I liked that Iz and Caleb had a history. They grew up in the same town, and went to high school together, but they never really knew each other. Once they started seeing past their preconceptions about the other, they were rewarded with a beautiful friendship, that grew into much more. This is a good book for those with an aversion to insta-love. The attraction was apparent fairly early in the story, however, the actual romance simmers for quite a while, and man, I was happy when it finally happened. I read another review, which noted this as a negative, but since this is my first foray into MC territory, I am kind of glad it was on the lighter side of the MC world, as I had a lot to learn. The epilogue planted a seed for some serious trouble in the next book.
This book had the elements I look for in good romance: some sexy, some swoon, some conflict, and a lot of heart.
