This is the second book in Jeaniene Frost’s Night Rebel series set in the Night Huntress world. This series follows bad boy, Ian, and law guardian, Veritas. I think you can read the Night Rebel series without having read the rest of the Night Huntress world, which I highly recommend too, but I wouldn’t recommend starting with this book, you need to read Shades of Wicked, first. Wicked Bite picks up right where it ends.
Now you would think that a man who constantly thumbs his nose to the law wouldn’t pair well with a law guardian, basically the cops of vampire society. But these two fit really well together. That doesn’t mean it is easy for either of them in the first book or this one, truthfully, the next one won’t be easy either. I’ve really liked watching them solve problems together, though I wish Veritas would take the help that Ian offers more. She is trying to protect him, but Ian is very good at doing that himself. He is always full of surprises.
I also enjoyed seeing some of the other characters in the Night Huntress world. I loved seeing more of Ian and Veritas. I can’t wait to see where the series goes from here. I’m also curious as to what Frost has planned after she completes this spin off series. Will she spin off with another character or start something completely new. I’m up for either, but I do have suggestions for more character spin offs if she’s interested. **coughs** **Tate and Justina**
Narration
Tavia Gilbert has been the voice of this series going all the way back to the very first Cat & Bones book, Halfway to the Grave. I’ve really enjoyed her voices of all the different characters, which is a very large cast. I’ve praised her a lot over the years. I don’t know what I can say that I haven’t already said. She is a narrator I highly recommend. If you haven’t tried listening to her, I highly recommend it.
