Ethan finds out on his twenty-first birthday that his family has been lying to him about who his real father is and leaves town to go and figure out who he is. After joining the military and almost losing his life, Ethan decides it is time to return home and try to mend bridges with not only his family but his true love and sunrise, Emily. Emily was heartbroken and struggled to move on when Ethan left her behind but after five years, she is finally moving on with her life. When Ethan walks back into town she is thrown for a loop but her anger initially wins out. Emily's life gets turned upside down again but this time Ethan is there to catch her. When Emily agrees to be friends again Ethan makes it his mission to make Emily his sunrise again.
Southern Sunrise has ALL THE FEELS and is the best book of The Southern Series. I had tears in my eyes for 75% of this story and really went through every single emotion. Ethan and Emily are a perfect example of true love. The determination that Ethan had to mend the bridges he burnt when leaving town was commendable. As hard as Emily tried to push Ethan away you knew that it was not going to last as their love was too strong to forget. I am sad that this series is now complete but I am looking forward to the next Natasha Madison book. This is a MUST READ series and I for sure have a new favourite author.
