Ooooh...a growly beast in a kilt

I'm a fan of highlander historical romance and an equal fan of paranormal fantasy. So, Kerrigan Byrne hit the mark when the beastly highlander growls out one of my favourite words in romance...

MATE...

Be still my heart. I had shivers up my spine as the huge highlander Berserker comes in contact with his mate and realises he's found the woman who will bring light to his dark days. Add in a few growls, uncontrollable lust and a big and manly physique, I am now a fan of Berserker Romance. Is this a genre? If not, why not? Once I've finished with Kerrigan Byrne's who else will satisfy my new craving for Berserker Romance?

This collection has been renamed and republished (I think, republished, I know it's renamed). It definitely has a bodice-ripper feel to it and I liked it. Sure, I wouldn't like it if this book was sent in 2020, but back then, it does not surprise me that women have little to no choice in their futures.

Each of the heroines is living pretty horrible lives up to the time they meet their Berserker. At first, the women are not sure if they are moving from bad to worse. These "men" appear to have no control over their blood lust and the women feel their lives may be at risk. After the first story, I had no doubt these Berserkers were in control of their blood lust...not so much their lusty lust (wink, wink).

I liked seeing the uncontrollable beast become the sweet, protective and loving hero by the end. It's not all plain sailing for each of these couples and they must learn to trust their budding feelings. If they stay true to their feelings, it will only make them stronger. With a hidden enemy trying to kill them, each MacLauchlan will need to be at their strongest to fight the evil coming.

These stories are HOT!! I was definitely having thoughts of dressing hubby in a kilt so he could ravish me. There are A LOT of intimate scenes but enough story to keep me satisfied.

If you're looking for a bit of *Berserker Romance* in your life, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.
