**AN ARC WAS PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN**

And they've done it again, but we really shouldn't be surprised! Let me just say that this series is angsty AF (that's what the youngins are saying these days, right?), but I love it completely. I love how so far, yes, we have the story with Levi and Ivy, but there's other little elements that just make this a much bigger story. When I first started this series, I wasn't expecting the bit of suspense to be thrown in and just WOW, you guys are in for THE emotional roller coaster of your life.

I've never been so back and forth between two characters than I have with Levi and Ivy. During Stone, Levi, yes, was a complete jerk to Ivy, although there's no room for someone to be a grade-A d*ck, I understand what Levi was going through. What he has gone through in the past and witnessing it being turned into a movie right before him, talk about a stab to the heart ... repeatedly. Yeah, it's a bit gruesome, but Cold painted what Levi is presently going through vividly. You can't help but be on his side about where his emotions take him. It's absolutely painful.

Levi and Ivy's passion for each is still there even after his little slip up at the end of the first book. I hated how it took him that very moment to realize that he could possibly lose one of the best people in his life. His feelings for Ivy came head on like a freight train and there was no stopping it. I loved his determination and utter patience because Ivy definitely had the right to be pissed off at him. The trust between them at the end of the first was nearly gone and you'll be wondering how he'll get it back. And I was rooting for Levi, he took the verbal lashing from her in strides and like I said, you can't help but feel absolutely gutted for him. It didn't matter what she sent his way, his decision was made and there was nothing that could hold him back from going after her.

To be honest, I found myself a bit peeved with Ivy because I was just soooo #TeamLevi in this book. For someone with such a painful past that still holds a bit of secret, he deserves his happiness even if it took nearly losing Ivy to realize it. Man, even when he was finally able to be truly honest with her, she kept doubting him. Girl, why?!

The suspense factor in this story left me so speechless, it kind of sneaks up on you. Like it wasn't supposed to overpower the story and it didn't, but it sure played a huge role in Levi and Ivy's story. And I promise, it will leave you wondering, what now?

If you love emotional and angsty reads, this is your series. Cold is NOT a standalone, it's a trilogy and every book needs to be read. I'm pretty nervous for the last book because I know our hearts will be thrown through the wringer, which I'm sure will leave me with a huge book hangover.

LOVED IT, bravo, Max Monroe!
