Can Rolf have it all?

Shifter’s Wish by Louise Cypress, the first book in Ms. Cypress’s new series, and it’s fabulous. In keeping with her paranormal young adult stories, this one takes place within the same world as The Puritan Coven series, but we don’t encounter any vampires. Instead, we have shifters in the same universe as the vampires.

Rolf Byrd

Rolf Byrd is the main character of the book and the only point of view. He is the single Canine shifter in existence for quite a while. Except his family is mostly bird shifters which Rolf doesn’t seem annoyed about but feels that they treat him differently. His dad died when he was young and was being raised by his mom and his dad’s family when his mom was too busy working as a cop. Rolf is a brilliant young man and loves films, including old movies. He is making a short film so that he can use that to go to USC for his degree in film studies. Rolf has learned a lot in this book about not only himself but his family on both sides.

Likes

  • He is protective of his younger sister.

Dislikes

  • His feeling of conflict between his mom and his dad’s family

  • That he is at a disadvantage around the Byrds

  • Having to choose between his mom and having a relationship with his dad’s family.

Five Stars

Shifter’s Wish by Louise Cypress is another fantastic book from this author, and I can’t wait to read Shifter’s Kiss. Ms. Cypress' books have a magnificent way of blending everyday issues with the paranormal world, and they make you think while entertaining you at the same time. Anyway, I was hooked from the first chapter of Rolf's story. Therefore, I am giving this book five stars since it was marvelously delightful. I am recommending it for all the paranormal young adult readers out there.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Shifter's Wish by Louise Cypress.

Until the next time,
