After the cliffhanger ending of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before I knew it wouldn’t be long before I picked up P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. I put one book in between to try to avoid burnout. I gobbled this one up just as quickly as I did the first.

Lara Jean has finally entered the world of dating. What she used to daydream about relationships and how they worked turns out to be quite a bit different than the reality. Relationships are confusing and messy but also filled with those great moments you hold on to. Despite having ground rules relationships are filled with gray and not just black and white.

I absolutely loved spending more time in the world that Han has created for Lara Jean and crew. Settings and secondary characters are big for me and Han excels in both categories. I really don’t feel like I can talk much about the plot so all of that review is in the spoilers section. There’s some pretty big ones in there so read at your own risk!

Gen is a bitch. There I feel better! Please don’t try to defend her; it won’t help. The things she put Lara Jean through (for what turned out to be a pretty minor offense) were awful. In my group of middle school friends it would have been a full blown fight for about a month and then blown over. John made a great third point to the triangle in this book. I’m glad Lara Jean finally fully aired her thoughts and feelings to Peter. I do feel bad for him being trapped in the middle BUT I also feel like he could have been far more considerate of Lara Jean’s feelings.

I’m not disappointed with how the book ended. I feel like Lara Jean made the decision that was best for her. I am a bit sad (maybe more bittersweet) that she made the decision she did but I get it. In the last few chapters Han made my heart race with all the possibilities.

I’m nervous about the third book. I’m excited to see where the story is going to lead but I don’t want my time with Lara Jean and her world to end. I know I won’t be able to resist putting it off for very long!
