I just didn't like this one, but it may be my personal preference. Perhaps later it will be a child favorite. However, in my reading an advanced reader copy I had hopes for it but the ending just doesn't make sense to me. But then I suppose I often look for more sense than necessary in a child's picture book.

We have a little lonely girl that wants a friend. She goes to the park and needs a friend. A boy is already there playing with his bear, and she then befriends a goose. She leaves the park and the goose, and returns to see him again, and another day again. But then he has to leave to migrate, and she to go home, but the next he's there again and in turn goes home with her.

Huh? Why? Why didn't he migrate? Why did her mom change her mind about the goose coming home? Why would you let a goose come home? I just don't get it. The pictures are vibrant and pretty though.

Thanks to HC for an ARC.
