Catching Liam by Geneva Lee, Gennifer Albin

Catching Liam (Good Girls Don't, #1)

by Geneva Lee and Gennifer Albin

Twenty-one year-old Jillian Nichols only has one rule when it comes to boys: catch and release. Boy-catching isn't just a game for Jillian and her friends, it's a lifestyle. After all, boys might be good for a dance or a drink and certainly a little under-cover action of the scandalous variety, but expect much else and you're bound for heart ache.

So when her best friends and fellow boy catchers start dropping like flies junior year, Jillian is determined to keep boys in her bedroom and out of her heart. Until she meets Liam McAvoy, the kind of guy that sticks around to make waffles and who can't—or perhaps won't—take a hint.

Study abroad student Liam doesn't want to be another notch on Jillian's bedpost. Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa's set expiration date means he can't promise her forever. That doesn't mean he's going to walk away from the challenge of discovering why Jillian is hell-bent at keeping people at a distance.

Before long, neither is sure who is catching who—or if they're playing for keeps. Jillian knows one thing though: falling in love will not only break the only rule of boy-catching, it could also break her heart.

My Thoughts:
When Jillian Nichols wakes up the next morning from a one night stand, the last thing she expects to find, is said one night stand, to be naked and cooking waffles in her kitchen. She is a love'em and leave'em type of gal. She doesn't do relationships, it's all about catch'em for the night and release them the next morning! Too bad for her that Liam McAvoy doesn't understand that, he was suppose to go away not stay the next morning and cook as well.

Oh Liam, how I heart you! If I found you nekki in my kitchen, cooking breakfast you would not get kicked out. Liam definitely was the biggest draw and highlight of this book for me! I absolutely fell in lust with Liam within the first 2 seconds. He's Scottish, tall, charming, can freaking cook and is sexy as hell. The author definitely hit all the right buttons for me with this hero. Every moment spent with Liam just made me love, love him more. The best part of Liam was the way he handled Jillian. So much patience and understanding. Le Sigh.

Now Jillian was another story for me. I had a love/hate relationship with this girl. Jillian didn't make a very good impression when we first meet her. She comes off as bitchy and that bitchiness was annoying. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy her much. Then as the book progress she slowly grew on me. Then a little past midway I wanted to smack her and tell her to stop running and grow a pair. There is a reason why Jillian does act the way she does. I can't imagine dealing with what she has, but at the same time she still made me frustrated shutting Liam out the way she does. Overall I liked Jillian by the end of the book and wanted to give her a hug.

I enjoyed the story of Jillian and Liam. Lots of funny, sweet, frustrating, sad and sexy moments between these two. There was definite smoking hot chemistry oozing from Liam and Jillian when they are around one another. Jillian's two best friends were a hoot. Loved those girls. They are the kind of girlfriends you want covering your back.

I am looking forward to the second book in this series. Can't wait to find out more about a certain teacher and best friend. This was an enjoyable read. I think fans of new adult will enjoy Catching Liam. There's angst, hot sexing, smoking Scotsman and somewhat lovable heroine! :)
