A regency romance with a spot of mild peril. Captain Adam Miller needs a wealthy bride to save the family estate, however he doesn't find any of what society sees as eligible but he's attracted to Jenny Hastings whose monies are tight, or so it appears, in fact her uncle hasn't been honest with her about her finances and when she finds out what she has she's afraid that people will only want her for her fortune and that Captain Miller will think she's been dishonest. To add to it all, Captain Miller is dealing with the death of a friend and Jenny is dealing with a friend whose fiancée has died, one and the same person, finding out who is to blame will put them both in peril.

It's relatively typical, the romance was well done and dealing with the death was also well done. I found this one quite enjoyable.
