This one tugged at my heartstrings for many different reasons.

My heart ached early and often for Tyler. His pain from feeling that he was never enough or with not being chosen fan deep, but I was very hopeful for him. He had this opportunity with his sister to prove to himself that he was better than what people thought and I was rooting for him.

This whole trio of characters were nursing a lot of wounds, some fresher than others, but all painful nonetheless. These things from their past were hindering them from making connections. It was great to see them help each other work through the baggage and see themselves the way others saw them.

I won't lie. I also enjoy this series, because I grew up in Brooklyn and am familiar with the neighborhoods visited in the book. That's always a fun thing for me.
