You know, even at the ripe old age of 34, I still remember the cliques in high school. There were the popular kids, the stoners, the geeks, the band geeks, etc. None of our cliques had cool names like the Pretty Little Devils, but we made do with what we had anyway. At first glance this book appears to take you back (if you're out of high school) to your high school days, or if you're still in high school, remind you of your place in the social net...but this book is so much more than a typical retelling of this clique's wars with that clique.

Mystery and murder are added to the mix and let me tell you this - the book keeps you on your toes at all times. Nancy Holder has a way of making you feel like you just can't stop reading - and indeed, I read from page 42 to the end in just a couple of hours this morning because I just couldn't stop reading, I had to know what happened next. Extremely well written with great plot twists.

The only problem I had was that I correctly guessed "whodunit" before I'd even gotten past the first chapter or two of the book. But that certainly didn't stop me from reading to see if I was right, and if I hadn't read it, I'd have missed out on a great book! It's an older YA novel but a great one!
