This was a absolutely delightful read, that took me on quite an emotional ride which I am yet to recover from. When I first read the blurb I knew this was going to be an emotional read and it did not disappoint. I actually got more than I bargained for.

This is not your typical fairy tale romance that would give that all over good feeling. This is a story that will tug at your heartstrings and will stay with you for quite awhile. It brought out an array of emotions. It made me laugh, it made cry, it made me frustrated and it made me angry.

Mangled Hearts was told from the POV of Cade and Francesca which allowed me to have a better understanding of what they were feeling and thinking. It made me better able to relate to them.

Character development was great. The characters were quite realistic and it was like watching them from the sidelines. They were not without their flaws and so this made a lot easier to relate to them.
Cade is not your typical romantic hero. He is an alcoholic who believed that the solution to all his problems could be found in a bottle. Francesca had been a loner in high school until the day Cade walked in her life. She was the complete opposite of Cade and she was the only person that could reach his lonely heart. She is a strong an independent woman who was not afraid to express how she really felt.
These two had a connection that was undeniable. Cade, however was not mature enough to deal with his feelings. I was upset with the way he treated her at times. In-spite of this she never stopped loving him.

It was great to finally see Cade acknowledging that he had a problem and was willing to take the steps needed to deal with his situation.
My only issue is that it was not clear as to what led Cade down this road of destruction and why he and his dad do not have a good relationship. This however this did not make the story any less enjoyable.
This story shows that love has the power to heal if we will allow it to. It also depicts that the first step to healing is acknowledging that we do have a problem and try to get help.
This is a must read for persons who enjoy a good romance story.
