~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
This book was just...WOW. It was so good. The writing was fantastic. It was well paced, and I never felt the need to skim. The plot was super engaging. It was sweet. It was romantic. It was heartbreaking. Last, it was all wrapped up in a lovely three-years-later epilogue.

~HERO~
JAKE...OMG people...Jake was...EVERYTHING. He was sweet. He was patient. He was alpha. He was sexy. He was loyal, and he was ALL about Mia/Fiona right from the start. Gaah...Jake definitely has a top spot on my "best book boyfriends" list.

~HEROINE~
MIA/FIONA...I loved Mia/Fiona just a WEE bit less than Jake. Mostly because Jake was all that and a bag of chips and I wanted Mia/Fiona to get with the program sooner. That said, I understood her reluctance given her horrible past. Plus, she doesn't really push away as such. I also loved how strong she was. How feisty. She had a huge heart and loved her for it.

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
This book really wasn't heavy on secondary characters. The main one being Maddox and OMG, I SO need his book ASAP. A 6´6 former military sweetie. Yes, please! I loved how kind he was with Mia/Fiona and how he helped her out. As well as playing the little matchmaker with her and Jake. I was also super intrigued by Gavin. So I request a book for him as well! ;D

~HEAT LEVEL~
LOW. This was what I would call a slow burn type of romance. No sexy times until 70% into the book. I am usually not a fan of slow burns, but it worked very well in this case. This couple also had very good on-page chemistry, which made the slow burn tolerable.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
LOW to MEDIUM. "I" didn't find this one particularly angsty. The heroine is guarded, so there is a little pushing away, but Jake never backs down. Other than that, they remain a solid couple throughout. Neither are virgins. The hero didn't come across as a manwhore. In fact, it is mentioned he hadn't slept with anyone since he moved to Vegas. The heroine is still technically married, but I didn't consider this cheating because her husband is NOT a nice guy at all. There was a TINY (and might I add pointless) bit of OW drama. Just a snarky coworker that had the hots for the hero. And, of course, there was some OM drama in the form of the heroine's husband.

~IN THE END~
Did I enjoy it? Yes.
Was it perfect? Pretty much.
Would I recommend it? In a heartbeat!
Who would enjoy this book? Pretty much everyone. Readers who don't like a lot of drama or angst. Readers who love a sweet story. Readers who love loyal heroes and damaged but strong heroines. I also think this would be considered a safe read for those that care about that type of thing.
