Sleeping With the Wolf is a very quick and cute romance, and was quite different than others I have read. Carla's plane has crashed, and luckily there were quite a few survivors. However, when she goes out for help, she and Lisa (her search party partner), are traded off by the men they thought were helping them. They're now the prizes in a Bride Fight! It turns out that their plan crashed 50 years into the future after a string of disasters ruined the world they knew. A disease killed many people, mostly women, so they're a hot commodity. Carla is not looking forward to becoming a strange man's property, but she could do worse than Taye.

I really liked Taye! He's a werewolf, and the Alpha of his pack, but he's not the typical alpha male. Most of Sleeping With the Wolf is just focused on Taye trying to make Carla comfortable and win her affections, since she is his wolf's mate. He's very sweet and makes sure she has everything she needs (within reason, since there's no technology). He also doesn't force her or try coercion to get her to agree to have sex with him. He wants her to want him rather than just taking it. I loved that! Taye does get bossy at times, but he's just use to being in charge, and I liked how he did make serious attempts to change for Carla. Of course, she does come to care for him and they live happily ever after.

There is absolutely no plot or conflict in Sleeping With the Wolf. It is just about the blossoming romance between Carla and Taye. It's basically their day to day lives in this strange future, and Carla finding her place in it. There's nothing wrong with that, but I did want more since this has such a great concept. I mainly wanted to know more about the wolves connection to this future. It seemed like people know about them, but I wanted to know how that came about. Were they just better survivors and take up most of the remaining human population, so they're "normal"? Or did they have to come out to the world, and enough time has passed that they're just like anybody else? I don't know and would like to.

I did really like Sleeping With the Wolf, mostly because Taye was so friggin' adorable! He admits to have read an old romance novel in order to know what to do with Clara in the bedroom. And he's totally baffled by some common place items and behaviors from the Time Before (like panties!). It was just a cute story.
