Good cover on this one. Great representation of the characters. Good composition and title work.

Man, I have had some books the past few days that have been hard to review because I love certain aspects of them but am turned off by others. It was the same case with this book. The writing was FANTASTIC. The pace was perfect. The plot was engaging, and it kept me turning the pages. No OW/OM drama. I wouldn't say there was a ton of angst, but the heroine does push/pull the hero away for 80% of the book which got a bit tiresome after awhile. It was a slow burn with no sex until 80%. There is really only one secondary character, and she was intriguing. Apparently, she features in Illicit Kisses and will get her own full story in the next book Broken Kisses

I ADORED the hero (21 and a virgin). He was PERFECT. He was sweet. He was charming. He was real and honest and was in from the word go. And therein lies my sole problem with this book. Perfect hero+reluctant herione=frustration. I did not like Zadie AT ALL (29 not a virgin). She was whiney. She was bitchy. She was self-centered. She pushed the hero away for WAY too long. I just never warmed up to her. After the bathroom scene, I was done with her, and I wanted Caleb to wash his hands of her and move the hell on. Once she stopped pushing away she became much better but like I said that didn't happen until 80%, so it was a little too late by then. Lastly, this was all wrapped up in a few sweet "weeks later" snippets.

I am going to go with four stars for this one because I basically loved everything BUT the heroine. Had the push/pull not lasted so long I most likely would have given this a five star rating. Even so, this still gets a solid two thumbs up from yours truly.
