This is a prequel to Akame ga KILL! I limit my knowledge of potential spoilers as I haven’t read the original series yet.

The Empire created a super elite assassin squad to put out any sparks of dissension before they can ignite the Empire. In order to accomplish this, they set children loose in a dangerous forest, and only those who survive become assassins. Active 1: The top seven received special training based on emotional manipulation, while they gave the rest drugs to be kept under control.

I found the characters dull and uninteresting in this story. The promising start of the story quickly shattered. Is it really necessary to show us so many closeups of boobs?

There is a mad scientist, but what makes him mad... There’s nothing else to him. It’s hard for me to reason I love a lot of stuff, but when I have cardboard cut outs I need something to engage me. They tried to add a sibling thing, but that didn’t engage me either. Oh look, one’s strong and one’s weak, yay? I know this is a prequel to the major series, but after reading this I definitely won’t be picking it up.
