He's a player in more ways than one...

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he'll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he's worth a second chance.

Now he's going to need to up his game...

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She's not a charity case, and she's not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He'll have to work for it. This time around, she'll be the one in the driver's seat...and she plans on driving him wild.

The Mistake starts off with just that, a mistake. Logan is heading to a party to distract himself from the fact that he's crushing on his best friend's girlfriend. Only he ends up at Grace's dorm room instead. Of course she knows who he is and is shocked to find him in her room. She's even more shocked that he stays to watch a movie rather than calling a cab to head back home. Even more shocking is that they hook up...only for Logan to get up and leave as soon as he was done. Awkward.

I really enjoyed The Mistake! It totally did not go how I was expecting it to at all! Obviously, Grace and Logan end up together, but their journey to get there was a rough one. I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of the time jumps in the middle, but I get why they were there. Grace needed to work on herself before jumping into something with Logan after he basically admits that she was a distraction for him. She's not moping for months after a guy she barely knows, but it was the final straw in her realizing that she can't just let people continue to use her or take her for granted, including her best friend of thirteen years.

However, Logan does spend those months moping! And I loved it! I love the realization he has about his feelings for Hannah. It was a total light bulb moment for him, and I think it happens a lot in real life without people even realizing it. He knows he screwed up and he's going to fix it. He's not one to just forget about his mistakes or shirk his responsibilities. But I also loved how Grace wasn't just going to forgive him so easy. She stands up for herself (also to her supposed BFF) and sticks with it. Of course, I was also elated when they reunited because they are great together!

The Mistake was another great read in this series. I absolute loved Grace and the way she rambles when she's nervous. It created many hilarious moments. I also adored Logan and how he wasn't afraid to show his real feelings, and how he took care of his father even if I don't think he deserved it. It was just sweet.
