Jack London's long-loved classic tale of how a wild wolf is tamed by a man's kindness. Couple it with 'The call of the wild', how a dog left to join the wolf pack.
Contrary to what I’ve heard from, well, everyone, and what I expected myself, I liked Call of the Wild so much more than White Fang. I thought it was more well-written, concise, vivid, etc. etc. but I think it just comes down to the fact I liked the progression and ending of the former much more than the latter. The return of the dog to the wild was just more compelling to me than the happily ever after of the domesticated wolf.
It’s also one of those (rare) books that I think would have benefited greatly had I read it as a kid, and not trying to play catch up now.
