Even with code, there are some changes that cannot be undone.This was an enjoyable, fast-paced, and brief read into what I think is approximately seven years prior to This Mortal Coil. This novella doesn't really add anything to the story and isn't required to jump into This Cruel Design, but it does provide a glimpse into the experiments.
I definitely recommend reading this one after This Mortal Coil; while it doesn't necessarily spoil anything, it does provide some insight into the main plotline. This is a free novella available on Riveted through November 30, 2018.
