Between Frames by W.R. Gingell, is the fourth novel in the City Between series. Once again I devoured the audiobook narrated by Zehra Jane Naqvi.

Because of the world, character relationship dynamics and growth this series like most urban fantasy is best listened to in the order of its release.

Something is killing high fae, and naturally they want the Psychos to do something about it. Pet isn’t supposed to get involved, but she is clever and sees things, hears things and just can’t help but attract things!

Humans aren’t thought much of by the fae, and it really was a rude awaken to enter a high fae’s home. Poor Pet.

While the case was exciting, we also saw development in the overall arc and I felt like we got some answers and saw some threads close. The character growth in Pet was evident. I was so proud of her. The ending about blew my mind and will definitely cause a shift in directions.

Intense action, tension with her roommates mixed with humor and more before Pet is forced to take a stand. I actually want to listen to it all again!

There are novellas before and after Between Frames in this series. Usually I wait until after I’ve listened to all the books in the series before I read them. Sometimes the author puts them all out on one audio. But I confess I am so tempted to read them now!

Fans of snark, mystery, and deliciously addictive urban fantasy should grab the City Between series on audio. Zehra Jane Naqvi beautifully captures not only Pet but her roommates too. She adds another layer of enjoyment to an already brilliant storyline. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer
