This book begins and ends from the husband's, Michael's, point of view, and these two chapters are quite beautiful. However, the rest of the book is written from the wife's, Carly's, point of view. We shared her love, loss, struggles, confusion, frustration, angry and fears. I admired so many things about Carly - her strength in the situation, her level head in understanding that life went on and she still had things and people to take care of, her ability to pull herself up and be there for her children, and her willingness to ask for help when needed. There were quite a few lovely moments I shared with Carly. Many were her reflections on her life with her children, some were her memories of her husband "before" and some were with her husband in that present time. A very pleasant, sweet read.
