It’s here! The conclusion of Spider-Geddon. It actually feels kind of weird that it’s happening so soon. At least it feels that way when I see that this issue is only #5. I know there were a ton of spinoff moments throughout, so that adds to it.
Having read the conclusion I can now officially see how all the side quests tie together. I had originally thought that some of the origin stories for the many many spider characters wasn’t really needed…and while I’m not entirely backing down on that stance I do feel less strongly about it than I originally had. At least now most of those characters came full circle (where before a few of them hadn’t even made an appearance in the main continuity).
The conclusion was…unexpected. They were naturally going to have some problems resolving the Inheritor plot. They can’t just beat them and lock them up again. Well, they can, but that would inevitably result with them getting out. Like what happened last time. Likewise most of the characters would never agree to actually kill them…so that leaves them with limited options.
I do like the solution they ultimately came up with. It felt a tiny bit force…but to be honest I think any of the solutions would have felt that way, given the circumstances. At least it had an actual sense of closure, and it even gave me a quick laugh too.
