Oh wow, what an angsty read, but one that I absolutely loved. I've been quite the fan of the stories where it's the rich falling in love with one of their family's hired workers child (that's a mouthful). I'm not even sure what to call it without sounding like a complete jerk face. However, these kinds of stories are bound to be angsty and filled with so many emotions, and we can't forget about the drama. But I was completely hooked from page one and the ending absolutely killed me, and I REFUSE to accept that little nugget you dropped, Emily. I'm already making my predictions who is actually behind it all, it's pretty easy to figure out who. Money and power can go a very long way, even far enough to split two people who are absolutely in love with each other, apart.
My goodness, where do I even begin with this story? Emily sure knows how to write an angsty and emotional read. The relationship between Veronica and Bennett was absolutely explosive. They've grown up together holding their feelings in about each other until the very moment that Bennett decides to reveal it all. Once he lets Veronica know, it's game over from there! They become completely consumed with each other and everything moves forward so quickly, only to have it end the same way. And that absolutely gutted me, your heart will break for these two. Plus, I'm not even sure who has it worse. Veronica went through quite the transformation from beginning to end, being this doe-eyed and a bit naive girl into an even more beautiful and confident woman, and in the end, someone that I just want to cry over and hug, forever. I didn't like who she was by the end, she's not the same woman and it's so heartbreaking to see. Bennett isn't any better too, all while harboring a very big secret that's killing him every single day.
Gahhhh, this book really knows where to punch where it hurts! I need that book 2 so bad and thankfully it'll just be a matter of days. Emily wrote a flawless and angsty story that I loved devouring! I already know that book 2 will be just as emotional as this one, and I don't think there's any way I can prepare for it.
This Love is a quick, explosive, and emotional read that you'll want to get your hands! Be ready to fall in love and break for Veronica and Bennett!
