Stealing Harper (Taking Chances, #1.5)

by Molly McAdams

"Chase Grayson has never been interested in having a relationship that lasts longer than it takes for him and his date to get dressed again. But then he stumbles into a gray-eyed girl whose innocence pours off her, and everything changes. From the minute Harper opens her mouth to let him know just how much he disgusts her, he's hooked. ... All good intentions go out the window when Harper starts to fall for the guy Chase has come to view as a brother. He wanted to protect her by keeping her away, but he can't stand to see her with anyone else, and he'll do anything to make her his. But when it comes down to Harper choosing between the two, will Chase have the strength to step back from the girl who has become his whole world if it means she's happy?"--Page 4 of cover.

The best part of TAKING CHANCES, in my opinion, was Chase. He may have come off as a complete dick to Harper time and time again, but he was truly a very emotional guy who wasn't sure what to do with all this feelings towards Harper or if he was even good enough for her. So I was looking forward to reading STEALING HARPER because I wanted to be inside Chase's head. I wanted to validate everything I thought I knew about Chase.

I will say, STEALING HARPER doesn't disappoint. Chase is everything I thought he was an more. After reading through Chase's first meeting with Harper and all every other interaction they had, I just knew that despite what he might have thought, we was meant to be with Harper. He had a soul deep love for Harper that truly knocked him on his ass. Being the closet sensitive and emotional person that Chase was, he truly had a hard time dealing with the emotions and love her felt for Harper. Most of the time that had him acting like an ass, but what's a guy to do when the woman he loves is sleeping with a friend of his?

For anyone that loved Chase in TAKING CHANCES, this is a must read. There aren't any shocking revelations about what happened in the first half of TAKING CHANCES, but STEALING HARPER give us Chase in all his glory as he fights himself and Harper to get what he really wants, even if it's only for a little while.
